Anti-fatigue camera: fatigue and drowsiness detector

The Endeavant anti-fatigue camera faces the driver and detects closed eyes, head nodding, yawning, phone use and distraction with on-board artificial intelligence. It alerts in the cab with voice and seat vibration, and our 24/7 Control Center validates every event with its video. It sees at night by infrared.

How it detects

Fatigue detector: what behaviors it detects

The fatigue detector tracks the driver's face frame by frame: eye contour, mouth and head position. It measures how long each gesture lasts before classifying the event, which is how it tells a normal blink from a microsleep. How the algorithm works is in AI fatigue detection.

Closed eyes

Microsleep and sustained eyelid closure.

Head nodding

The head dropping, a sign of drowsiness.

Yawning

Frequency and mouth opening.

Phone use

Phone in hand or at the ear while driving.

Distraction

Gaze off the road and sustained head turn.

Smoking

Lit cigarette in the cab.

Covered lens

Covering the lens does not switch it off: it is reported as an event.

Driver change

Biometric recognition on Avant 5 and 8.

Alert

What happens when the driver falls asleep

When the driver closes their eyes at the wheel, the camera alerts in the cab right away without querying a server, so the alert does not depend on signal. At 100 km/h, a 3-second microsleep is about 83 meters without control. That is why the event uploads with its video and an Endeavant operator handles it.

  4. 24/7 validationThe Control Center confirms the event, talks to the cab and notifies your supervisor on WhatsApp.

Night vision

Night detection by infrared

The anti-fatigue camera sees the same by day, at night or in a dark cab, with infrared light that carries a photobiological certificate, so it does not harm the driver's eyes. A shield dims the glare inside the cab. Every event arrives with the image, plate, speed and time. Captures with simulated data.

Comparison

A beeping sensor or a system with video and a control center

An off-the-shelf fatigue sensor beeps in the cab and that is the end of it: nobody else finds out, no evidence is kept and there is no follow-up. A fleet anti-fatigue system adds the event video, validation by an operator and a notice to the supervisor, which is what lets you correct behavior and answer a claim.

Vehicles

Which vehicles it fits

The anti-fatigue camera fits any vehicle with a cab: it sits on the dashboard, facing the driver, in a bolted metal housing. An Endeavant technician mounts it in 2 to 3 hours per vehicle, across northern, central and southern Peru. Each vehicle can carry 1 to 8 cameras depending on what you want to cover.

Freight trucks

Tractor units, dump trucks and delivery trucks, on the road and the highway.

Buses

Passenger and staff transport, urban and intercity.

Mining fleets

Heavy mine transport, with MIL-STD-810H certification on the Avant 8.

Light vehicles

Pickups and supervision vehicles.

Endeavant Cloud

Every fatigue alert with its evidence

In Endeavant Cloud every fatigue alert opens with the video, plate, speed, time, place and shift driver. From the same screen you classify it, request the full video or notify the supervisor.

FAQ

Anti-fatigue camera FAQ

How does the fatigue detector work?
The fatigue detector is a camera facing the driver with on-board artificial intelligence. It locates the eyes, mouth and head frame by frame, measures how long eyelid closure, nodding and yawning last, and once it confirms drowsiness it alerts in the cab with voice and seat vibration. The event uploads with its video to Endeavant Cloud and the 24/7 Control Center validates it.
What are fatigue and drowsiness detectors?
They are devices that watch the driver and warn when signs of tiredness or sleep appear: closed eyes, nodding and yawning. The simplest ones only beep. A fleet anti-fatigue system, like Endeavant smart cameras, also detects phone use, distraction, smoking and a covered lens, keeps the video of every event and sends it to a control center that validates it.
Does it work at night or with glasses?
At night, yes: the camera uses infrared light, with a photobiological certificate, and sees the face as it does by day without harming the driver's eyes. With glasses, the Endeavant technician sets the sensitivity at installation and checks detection with your fleet's drivers before handing over the unit.
What happens when the driver falls asleep?
The camera detects the closed eyes and alerts in the cab right away with voice and seat vibration, with or without signal. The event uploads to Endeavant Cloud with 15 seconds of video before and 15 after, and a 24/7 Control Center operator reviews it, talks to the cab if the driver is still at risk and notifies your supervisor on WhatsApp with the evidence.
Can it be installed in any vehicle?
Yes. The anti-fatigue camera is installed in freight trucks, buses, mining fleets and light vehicles such as pickups. It sits on the dashboard, facing the driver, and installation takes 2 to 3 hours per vehicle with Endeavant technicians across northern, central and southern Peru. Each vehicle can carry 1 to 8 cameras depending on what you want to cover.
Does the alert work without signal?
Yes. The camera processes on board, so the in-cab alert is the same with or without coverage, including underground and on high-altitude routes. Without signal, the event video stays in the unit's memory with time and position and uploads to Endeavant Cloud on its own when signal returns.
