How is the Ituran tracker installed and how does it transmit?
An Endeavant technician installs the Ituran device under the dashboard, wired to the vehicle's electrical system and the OBD / CAN Bus port, in under 45 minutes per unit. Once live, it transmits position, speed, engine data and alerts every 10 seconds over the 4G cellular network.
The data reaches the web platform and the Ituran Fleet app (iOS and Android): a live map with each vehicle's status, trip playback with distance, duration, fuel and top speed, and push notifications. How does Ituran score each driver?
Ituran rates every driver with a 0 to 100 safety score, calculated from 20 maneuver types picked up by the accelerometer: harsh braking, acceleration, speeding and dangerous cornering. The fleet leaderboard updates daily and shows a 7-day trend, so you can see who is improving and who is slipping.
The automatic leaderboard reports feed incentive and training programs, so coaching goes to the drivers who need it instead of being repeated across the whole fleet.
